STRUCTUS is the structural subconsultant for these contracts.

Filtration Improvements
Phase I includes seismic analysis evaluation and Conceptual Engineering Report for 10 modules of two existing Filter Basins. Extensive fluid-structure interaction analyses and correlation studies with ACI 350.3 seismic design were performed. Phase II includes seismic retrofit design and analysis to meet FEMA 356 bi-level earthquake performance goals, preparation of 100% of the Construction Documents and consultation with EOB Staff for final Design Document.

Flocculation Basin Seimic Retrofit
This project includes seismic retrofit design of two existing Flocculation Basins constructed in 1969 to meet the SFPUC’s “General Seismic Requirements” Structural Performance Category III objective for Immediate Occupancy at BSE 2 seismic event. Seismic retrofit features include shotcrete strengthening of walls and walkway level slabs, columns, and modifications of expansion joints.

Long Term Improvements
This project included seismic retrofit design of the existing Operations Building and the Gallery Building constructed in 1969, and the Ozone Building and the Office /Storage Building constructed in 1990 and 1989 respectively, to meet the SFPUC’s “General Seismic Requirements” objectives. All buildings, except the Office/Storage Building are designed for Structural Performance Category III objective for Immediate Occupancy at a BSE 2 seismic event. The Office/Storage Building is designed for Structural Performance Category II, for Life Safety performance at a BSE 2 seismic event. In addition, STRUCTUS has designed two new Temporary Upwelling Channels and Seismic Retrofit for the Penthouse of the Ozone Contractor Building.
