Pier 30/32 New International Cruise Terminal Study

San Francisco, CA

Pier 30/32 was to be developed as a new waterfront commercial complex to house the new International Cruise Terminal, offices, parking, cinemas, retails and other maritime facilities. As a member of the selected Design Team, we performed preliminary seismic analyses, evaluation and retrofit study for Pier 30/32, a 550,000 sq.ft. concrete pier supported by concrete piles with sizes ranging from 18″ square to 48″ round. In addition, we coordinated with a testing laboratory and a diving inspection firm in performing field investigation and survey of over 4,000 concrete piles and their pile caps, and compiled a report of concrete damage for future concrete repair work.
