The San Francisco Opera House Seismic Retrofit Project is the recipient of the 1997 Restoration Award from California Preservation Foundation, and of the 1998 National Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The 250,000 sf. project includes a 10,000 sq. ft. subterranean addition, complex theatrical rigging and other improvements, as well as the pioneering use of viscous dampers. STRUCTUS was a Joint Venture Prime Consultant for the project.
